MARIANGELES LOPEZ counsels the firm with regards to environmental matters.
Mariangeles graduated in Law from Universidad Complutense in Madrid in 1971 and has since successfully developed a solid professional career in law.
Since 1998 Mariangeles has specialised in Environmental Law gaining particular expertise in Administrative & Public Litigation involving aeronautical, urban plan development, industry, mining and energy activity, proceedings of environmental impact evaluation and integrated environmental authorisations.
Since 2008 she holds the secretary and legal counsel posts for ANAITA and has been consulted by the European Parliament with regards to the European proposal regarding operation restrictions on European airports.
She is the President and Founder of ASOCIACIÓN ACIMA, co-founder of the Red de Abogados para la Defensa Ambiental, and is an active member of Coalición Acces Info España. She carries out these activities on a PRO BONO basis.
She has intervened in numerous forums and congresses, and has given several courses and speeches and published articles in relation to the 3 recognised rights by the Aarhus Convention; access to environmental information, public participation and access to justice with regards to environmental issues. She is a member of the Focal Point of Aarhus Convention’s interest group and publishes the blog http://www.objetivoaarhus.es/.
